President of clearAvenue Named to “Fifty Powerful Women in Business” List

Washington—Indian-American Harini Kankanahalli, president of clearAvenue, LLC, of Columbia, MD, has been named to the Minority Enterprise Executive Council’s list of “Fifty Powerful Women in Business” for her work in information technology projects supporting the federal government.

Kankanahalli has guided the growth and success of her company since 2002. clearAvenue has been extremely successful under her leadership and has grown significantly year after year. Prior to starting clearAvenue, she earned her business acumen through work in accounting and finance in such technology organizations as Digital Equipment Corporation (acquired by Compaq) in senior leadership positions. "I'm happy that the contributions my company has been able to make,” said Kankanahalli. "I'm certainly proud to have had a role in it, and it's truly an honor to receive this award."

The 2010 award, sponsored by the council’s award-winning Minority Enterprise Advocate magazine, was based on the theme “Women Going the Distance.” The Minority Enterprise Executive Council assists and promotes the interests of minority entrepreneurs by initiating, encouraging and promoting, in cooperation with federal, state, and local agencies and officials and with organizations, public and private, the availability of information and service programs to advance the development of small and disadvantaged and women-owned businesses. The “Fifty Powerful Women” list is an annual event.
